- This National Elevation Dataset (NED) is a new raster product of the U.S. Geological Survey, designed to provide national elevation data in a seamless form with a consistent datum, elevation unit and projection. Data corrections were made to minimize artifacts, perform edge-matching, and fill silver areas. For Colorado , the NED 30 meter data were re- sampled to 90 meters and cast on the Lambert Conformal Conic projection, using standard parallels of 33° N <(>&<)> 45° N and central meridian of 105° 30W. This depiction was created with the illumination from the northwest with a simulated sun 55° above the horizon.
