Additional Details
- Description
- Ganymede is the largest (~5,200 km diameter) of the Jovian satellites. Surficial features on Ganymede, as recorded by the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft indicate a complex history of crustal formation. The complexity of terrain types and furrow and groove structures on Ganymede show that it has had a very active tectonic history extending over a long period of geologic time. The area of coverage is shown on two separate sheets at a scale of 1:5,000,000.
