Additional Details
- Description
- The 489 maps in the 1:250,000-scale series are available for the entire United States. They were originated by the U.S. Army Map Service during the 1950's, but are now maintained by the USGS. This series serves as base maps for aeronautical charts and geologic maps, for geographic reference, and in planning regional land use, transportation, and utility systems. Quadrangles are 1 degree of latitude by 2 degrees of longitude. This Denver map along with several others is unique because on the reverse side is a satellite image covering the same area as the 1:250,000 topographic map. It is therefore excellent for comparing cultural and physical geography to the satellite image. Map scale is 1:250,000 and measures 32"x22".
